I can’t quite believe it’s been one whole year since I created Simply Emma and hit ‘Publish’ on my very first blog post. 19th October 2014 was the big day.
The vision behind Simply Emma is to inspire people with my accessible travel adventures and document anything else that interests me as I journey through life with a physical disability.
Reflecting back on the past year
Seeing this blog grow over the past year has been exciting and somewhat of a learning curve. Who knew there was more to blogging than just typing away at the keyboard and firing out posts like there’s no tomorrow. Certainly not me! To be honest, it was difficult in the beginning to properly get going with my blog and post on a regular basis. It’s easy to get caught up and focus too much on what other bloggers are doing. I’ve learnt to concentrate on what I love to do and throw all my energy into my own blog.
A highlight of the past year has been teaming up with Una Tickets. I’ve loved being a guest blogger and sharing my experiences of accessibility at live events on their blog.
I’ll never forget the amazing response on my accessible travel tips post. It’s been my most popular post so far with many people retweeting it on Twitter. It was the first time one of my posts had gotten so many views, which made me extremely proud of what I had written.
Looking forward to the next year
It’s exciting to think what adventures are in store for the next year whether planned or unplanned. I can’t wait to share them with you through my blog posts and photos on social media. I’m also looking forward to communicating more with you guys and discovering new and exciting places to visit through your experiences too. It’s a big world out there so let’s get exploring.
My goals for the next year
- Be proud of what I do and the content I write
- Try new and exciting things
- Discover more amazing accessible places
- And highlight the not so accessible too
- Grow my audience and meet more people with a passion for travel
