This past weekend I enjoyed a nice day at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens with my boyfriend, sister and nephew. This isn’t going to be an in-depth review of the disabled access at the gardens. Instead, it is a brief summary of visiting Glasgow Botanic Gardens in a wheelchair. I plan to write a more detailed review very soon.
Visiting Glasgow Botanic Gardens in a Wheelchair
We had originally planned to go shopping and then go for some dinner but decided once we got to Glasgow to pop into the Botanic Gardens before hitting the shops. My nephew loves to run around so we thought it would be a good place to take him. He loved watching the fish and wandering around inside the gardens and also splashing about in a puddle or two.
We plan on going back again in the summer and spending a little more time in the gardens outside when it isn’t cold. It will be lovely when all the flowers have blossomed outside and our nephew can run about even more.
Although we didn’t go around it all the wheelchair access seemed pretty good at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens and there was a disabled toilet. Most of the paths seemed fairly flat.
Glasgow Botanic Gardens Disabled Parking
There is disabled parking within the gardens, but you must have a blue badge to park here as non-badge holders must park outside the gardens.
I’m really looking forward to the warmer months and spending more time with my family. I feel like I’m going to enjoy blogging about it all.
