If you’ve been following my blog for a while now you might remember we postponed our planned trip to Paris for my 30th birthday last November. Well, I’m now excited to share with you that we finally made it to the City of Light at the end of April for 3 amazing nights.

Part 4 of ‘Disabled and the City’ began when we woke on Sunday morning and once we were ready and the last of our things were packed away in the case, we ventured out to make the most of our last few hours in the city. We got a bus down to Union Square as there was a few things we wanted to do in that area before we left. First off being a look around Fishs Eddy. Our Saturday morning started with breakfast at Ruby Tuesday’s in Times Square. I had Eggs Benedict for the first time and some green tea. The Eggs Benedict was so good. Each time we’ve been to New York we seem to go to this Ruby Tuesdays at least once for breakfast as we know it’s good for wheelchair access and the service has always been great. After breakfast we headed to the Minskoff Theatre to buy our Broadway tickets for The Lion King that night. It was Friday morning and our second full day in the city and we had a few things in mind that we wanted to do. We left our hotel after having some breakfast and headed for the bus to take us to Chelsea. We had a little wait for the bus, but it wasn’t too bad apart from the cold. The bus driver on this bus was actually really nice (we had a few during our trip that weren’t the friendliest). He asked what our stop was and we were on our way. 20 odd minutes later we were in the area we wanted to be and the driver quickly came over to me and released my wheelchair from the tie-downs. “Have a good day” he said as we exited the bus.
