Wheelchair Fashion | Converse

I don’t consider myself to be very fashionable, but I love wearing nice clothes/shoes that are comfortable and make me feel good. Both of which can be tricky when you’re in a wheelchair as you’re faced with the task of finding clothing that are practical and fit properly (when sitting all day) in order for you to feel good and comfortable in the first place.

So I thought I’d start a little series of fashion related posts of things I like to wear, outfits, wishlists, inspiration etc. I’m thinking of naming these posts ‘Wheelchair Fashion’, but let me know what you all think?

I’ll kick this series off by sharing my love of these bad boys. I’ve always loved wearing converse shoes and I’ll even go as far as saying they are my favourite type of footwear other than my fluffy slippers of course (which I’d happily wear outside if I could get away with it).

They are awesome and my new favourite. They were a gift so I didn’t pick them out or even know I was getting them. The person who gave me them totally knows what I like and my style (thanks Allan).

I love the washed out look on these Red Hi-Top Chucks against the grey laces. I also love the worn in look, which is surprising as all my other footwear look brand new even if they are years old. A perk of not walking on them I guess (silver lining and all that).

There are three colours to choose from – Papyrus (black), Casino (red) and Navy. I definitely like the red the most, but I’m so tempted to buy the other two colours as well since they are currently on sale for £39.99 from £60. Such a great saving so hurry up and get yourself a pair or two or three….

Let me know if you decide to pick out a pair of Converse in the sale!

    1. Exactly! I’ve always thought that too. One of the perks of being a wheelchair user 😀 I’ve often thought about sharing in a blogpost what the other perks are 🙂

  1. I’m going to go out with my friend and look at Converse shoes. I now wear black shoes and I’ve looked Velcro Nation! Much easier to put on. But the Converse might work with elastic laces.

    Great photos in your article.
