A Day In My Life | Glasgow Loves Christmas

If you don’t know already, I’m a big Christmas fan. So to kick start the month of December we headed out for a day of festive fun in Glasgow on December 2nd. Our day started off with the Christmas market at the Riverside Museum and ended with a look around Glasgow Loves Christmas market in George Square.

I thought it would be fun to share our day with you in a slightly different way from usual so I filmed some of the day to give you an idea of what I got up to from getting up in the morning to our time in Glasgow. Stay tuned for the video at the end of the post. Hope you enjoy!

Christmas Festivities at Riverside Museum

Emma and her nephew meet Santa Claus at Riverside Museum in GlasgowWe had taken our nephew to the Riverside Museum a few years ago and he loved it. So when I found out there was going to be a Christmas market during the first weekend of December I thought it would be a fun day out for us all. The event was free and was filled with rides and market stalls both inside and outside the museum. We got to meet Santa and wander through the lovely gift and food stalls. There was a bungee rope so it was fun to watch people take part in that.

Getting Our Punk On

Neon sign at Pizza Punks restaurant in Glasgow. Sign reads "Love will tear us apart again"After the Riverside Museum, we made our way to the city centre for some shopping and dinner at the amazing Pizza Punks. I had one of the tastiest vegan pizzas I’ve ever had. It was delicious. What is really awesome about Pizza Punks is they offer unlimited toppings. UNLIMITED! You can have as many as you want. I had five toppings, but I reckon I could manage more the next time we go, which I hope is soon. The decor inside the restaurant is also awesome from the furniture to the neon signs. Although there are steps into the restaurant, there is a ramp that the staff will put down for you. The accessible toilet is located next to the bar.

Glasgow Loves Christmas

Light up Santa sleight with reindeers in George Square Glasgow Once fed and watered we headed over to George Square for a wander through the Christmas market. It was a Saturday night and incredibly busy so we didn’t manage to stop and look at all the stalls. There was a giant bauble that my sister and nephew stood inside to get their photo taken. I wasn’t able to join them because there was a huge step (as you can see in the photo below) and no ramp for access up to this area.

Emma looks disappointment sat beside a step that does not have a ramp to allow her to access the giant christmas bauble with everyone else. Emma drives up a wheelchair ramp to view the nativity scene Wheelchair ramps at George Square Glasgow Loves ChristmasI felt disappointed considering there was not one, but two ramps put on the other side of the Square for access to the nativity scene. Both areas were identical with the same step, but one had ramps and the other didn’t. Makes you wonder why the organisers decided to choose only one side and not both.

A Day In My Life

I enjoyed filming the day so if you’d like to see more videos like that then please let me know. I might even turn it into a ‘Day In My Life’ series if that’s something you’d be interested in.
